I love everything about weddings, from the excitement of getting ready to the crazy dancing during the reception. Sometimes though, with all the guests and the intricate details carried out throughout the day its easy for the actual wedding ceremony to get lost in the mix. Don’t get me wrong, I love a big party. In fact, I myself invited 200+ people to my own wedding. I just think that some of the most beautiful weddings are very simple ones because it’s not about the white dress and the 100+ people that were invited, it’s all about the bride and groom and people that they are closest with.
This summer I had the honor of photographing Colleen & Nate on the front lawn at the Black Point Inn in Scarborough Maine where they celebrated their wedding with their immediate family (and me.)
Nate’s brother-in-law was the officiant for the wedding.
Colleen wore a simple summer dress paired with her grandmother’s diamond earrings that have been worn by several family members on their wedding day.
Nate’s mother read an excerpt from the Velveteen rabbit.
Colleen’s sister Kristen and Kristin’s daughter Lauren sang “Hallelujah.”
Colleen’s nieces Lauren and Addie were the ring bearers.
What a beautiful ceremony! I really had a hard time taking pictures while my eyes were filled with tears.
Thank you Colleen and Nate for letting me capture and share your special day!
